There are a number of fantastic excursions from Auberge Kasbah Chez Amaliya. The following is a brief description of some of the most popular excursions. Don't miss them!

The Auberge Kasbah Chez Amaliya is situated at the beginning of a pedestrian path, making it a excellent starting point for several hikes in the Valley of Ameln.

For those that enjoy solitary hikes, this is also a possibility!

Guided Excursions (minimum 4 persons):
1. Agard Oudad - Napoleon’s hat and the Painted Rocks - Half day
We will bring you in the afternoon to the village Agard Oudad by car (7 km). Agard Oudad is situated under an enormous rock (Napoleon’s hat). From Agard Oudad we will walk to the Painted Rocks (two hours walk). Then have dinner (barbecue) at sunset with a camp fire and music entertainment in the great outdoors. Return to Ameln by car.

2. Walk to Tafraoute across the mountains - lunch in Tafraoute - visit Tafraoute (market on Wednesday) and visit the village of Tazzka (granite rocks and prehistoric carving of a gazelle) – One day
You will enjoy the beautiful views on your hike from Auberge Kasbah Chez Amaliya to Tafraoute up & across the granite range. It is very possible to see a herd of goats and some nomad tents on the way. This walk takes two hours. Tazzka is a village situated 2 km from Tafraoute. Return from Tazzka to Ameln by car or by foot.

3. The Canyons of Ait Mansour – One day
We will bring you by car (4x4) to Ait Mansour (25 km). The hamlet in the bottom of a lush palm-filled gorge is really fascinating (and resembles Arizona). We will hike through the canyons and have a nice picnic for lunch. Return to Ameln before dinner.

4. Visit Berber family in Asguine - lunch - walk to Anameur (source bleu) - walk to Tagoudichte - One day
We will leave early in the morning on foot through the valley to visit Mrs Khadija in the village of Asguine. She shows you her traditional house and may demonstrate how she prepares argan-oil and amlou. After tea at her house we will walk to Anameur and visit the spring. We will have a picnic there. After lunch you will enjoy the great panoramic views on your hike up to Tagoudichte. Return from Tagoudichte to Ameln by car.

5. Walk to Oumesnat across the valley - visit the Traditional House - discover the ruins of an old deserted Berber village – Half day
During this excursion you will be in the heart of the Ameln Valley. Discover how the Berber people lived here in the last centuries. Enjoy the serene beauty of the valley.

6. Visit Cooperative Tifaouine Ameln at Amoulokhfis (Berber women pressing Argan-Oil & girls hand embroidering leather) - lunch – Half day
We will leave in the morning on foot to visit the women of the argan oil cooperative & leather embroidery association. The women will prepare our
lunch. After lunch we will walk through the valley back to Auberge Kasbah Chez Amaliya.

7. Enjoy the Ammelne Valley with the whole family. Excursion and picnic with the donkey Shouf-Shouf - Half day

Enjoy the beauty of the Ammelne Valley in a uniquely Moroccan way. Your whole family can journey through the amazing landscape as the sure-footed donkey Shouf-Shouf carries the young children and your lunch to the picnic site. Shouf-Shouf is a docile and wonderful travelling companion on this perfect Ammelne Valley experience.
